Research and Clinical Interests
- Reflex neurocirculatory control mechanism in normal man and in pathologic states and reflex regulation of the circulation during exercise.
- Atherosclerotic coronary vascular disease – diagnosis and treatment and heart failure.
Dr. Sanders joined Capital City Medical Associates in 1990. Born in Jefferson City, he completed his undergraduate degree at Westminster College, Fulton Mo., in 1979. He graduated from medical school in 1983 from the University of Missouri School of Medicine – Columbia. Dr. Sanders completed his Internship in 1986, Fellowship in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease (1986-1988) and Chief Fellowship (1988-1989) at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.
He is the medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory, intensive care unit and progressive care unit at Capital Region Medical Center where he also serves as a member of the trauma/critical care, quality assessment committee. He also is a member of the Critical Care Committee at St. Marys Health Center.

Dr. Sanders worked in overseas missions in Zaire, Africa, and Jamkhed, India, for the board of Global Ministries of United Methodist Church in 1992, 1994, 1995 and 1996. He also founded and directs the Jefferson City Free Medical and Dental Clinic.
Dr. Sanders is on the board of directors for the Community Health Center of Central Missouri, the governing board of the United Way of Central Missouri and the board of trustees for the Jefferson City YMCA.
He resides in Jefferson City with wife, Carol. He has two children, Elizabeth and Adam, and is a member of the First United Methodist Church.
