Radiology
Your CCMA physician may need you to have an X-ray taken. An X-ray is a picture used to look at your bones and other internal structures to determine whether a bone is fractured or dislocated or to evaluate damage from conditions such as infection, arthritis, abnormal bone growths (tumors), or other bone diseases, such as osteoporosis.
X-rays are taken right here at CCMA. Most often X-rays are taken during your office visit, another appointment is rarely necessary.
You will feel no discomfort from the X-rays. However, the X-ray table may feel hard and the room may be chilly because air-conditioning is used to keep the X-ray equipment at a constant temperature. You may find that the positions you need to hold are uncomfortable or painful, especially if you have an injury. When completed, the X-ray films are interpreted and your physician receives a report.
